Kate worked for many years at the University of California Riverside Graduate School of Education as a Computer Resource Manager, supervising technology support and training for faculty, staff, researchers and students, and collaborated on projects related to integrating technology into classroom practice. She currently works as Faculty Trainer for Edmonds Community College, developing and delivering workshops for faculty involved in eLearning. Kate is a member of the Association of Women in Computing, Puget Sound Chapter, and was a founding board member of Women in Technology International, Orange County Chapter. She lives on Whidbey Island with her husband, a retired ferry worker.
