After serving four and a half years in the US Coast Guard, Steven completed his bachelor degree in Business Administration – Management Information Systems from California State University, Sacramento. After graduation he started a career in Quality Assurance as a QA engineer in the technology sector. He later moved to San Francisco where he started managing QA teams in a series of Web startup companies. It was during this time he found a constant pattern of late projects were causing unnecessary stress on his teams and projects were being delivered with poor quality due to lack of proper testing time. In order to improve the quality of the projects, he started implementing better process throughout the organizations to improve the PM processes from the start. After spending 10+ years working on PM processes and managing projects he decided in 2010 to start the process of studying for his PMP certification, which he took and passed in June of that year.
