What is Economic Development and why is the Port of Bellingham involved?

Brief: This presentation will cover past economic development models used in Whatcom County, the model that is currently being used, what a “typical” Economic Development project looks like and discussion about issues we are facing in the region today.

 

Bio: John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Washington and is a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional. As an Economic Development Specialist with the Port of Bellingham, John’s responsibilities include: Retention and Expansion, Recruitment/Attraction and working with local jurisdictions to ensure Whatcom County has the assets and capacity needed to support a strong and diverse business community across all of Whatcom County.
